SKEG helps paddlers organise evidence. It does not replace judgement, training, local knowledge or authoritative marine information.
Important: CYBR SKEG is not a certified navigation, distress, rescue, weather-warning or tide-table system and never authorises a launch.
Decision support only
Forecast Briefs, similarity, Adventure and Training scores, capability evidence and location behaviour are planning aids. Evidence confidence describes available data—not safety. You remain responsible for checking conditions, access, equipment, skills, group capability and official advice.
Forecasts, tides and maps
Weather and marine forecasts can be late, incomplete or wrong. Modelled tide heights are relative to their stated datum and are not official local tide predictions. Community seamarks can be incomplete or outdated and are not an official nautical chart. Use authoritative sources whenever the decision requires them.
GPS and emergency features
Phones, browsers, batteries, permissions, networks and background restrictions can interrupt tracking. SOS actions only prepare calls or information for your device; SKEG does not automatically contact emergency services or a shore contact. Call the appropriate emergency service directly when immediate assistance is required.
Local records
You are responsible for backing up records you wish to keep. Browser clearing, device failure, storage limits or PWA removal can delete local information. Review exported data before sharing because it may contain precise locations and personal details.
Availability
SKEG is provided free of charge and may change as it develops. Online providers, map layers and device capabilities may be unavailable without notice. No guarantee is made that every feature will be suitable for every waterway, craft, device or jurisdiction.
Responsible use
Do not use SKEG to encourage hazardous activity, exceed declared limits, trespass, interfere with rescue services or represent community/modelled information as official navigation guidance.
