Privacy
CYBR SKEG is designed to work without an account and to keep your paddling records under your control.
Information stored on your device
Paddle plans, GPS tracks, completed paddles, incidents, launch locations, craft and paddler profiles, Personal Limits, achievements, CKI learning records, a saved shore-contact number and app preferences are stored locally using browser storage.
Representative Visual Sea State Library images are also stored locally in a bounded media store. Photos and videos captured for download are not uploaded by SKEG or included in ordinary JSON backups.
Information sent when you use online features
- Selected launch coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo when requesting weather, marine and modelled tide information.
- Map viewing requests tiles from OpenStreetMap, Esri and, when enabled, OpenSeaMap.
- Launch discovery sends the visible search area to SKEG's bounded Cloudflare endpoint, which requests mapped launch information from OpenStreetMap Overpass.
- The hosting provider may process ordinary technical request information needed to deliver and protect the website.
No advertising profile
SKEG does not require an account, contain advertising or intentionally create a cross-site advertising profile. It does not sell your paddle records.
Backups and sharing
Backups and exports are created only when you request them. JSON backups are readable and may include precise locations and contact details, so store and share them carefully. Share cards and Float Plans should be reviewed before sending.
Your controls
You can export supported records, clear offline application files without deleting records, or delete selected/all local records from Settings. Clearing browser data or uninstalling the PWA can remove local records, so export a backup first.
